Hello fellow Classmates and Friends,

There are classmates who sit at the computer, read their emails immediately and respond too! I thought I was the only one who needed help? Doh! I received a few responses and have updated the web site accordingly. You will see a little camera identifying who has an updated picture. I kinda borrowed the camera picture from classmates until I get a moment to make one.

No suspense. Carol Pooh Angiono, Joe Jacolone, and Ellen Meyer have contributed recent photos. Joe looks really relaxed and living the good life with a drink in one hand and chewing on a swizzle stick that looks just like a cigar. If I can get Joe (Hint, hint) to send me some info so I can build him a student web page then everyone will be able to get to Joe's music and give a look and listen. He is quite the songwriter and performer.

You might want to take a look at the other new pictures too. I'm running a special today featuring pretty blonds. :) I'm not saying one way or the other that they are cuties and I'm not embarrassed or ashamed to tell you I have already printed their pictures in color and kissed both of them. Multiple times. :) :)

Hello fellow Classmates and Friends,

Well, I just called a fellow classmate earlier (a girl of course), to say hello and how are you doing. She mentioned, "a year has gone by since our reunion", so here I am writing a reminder for you to mark your calendar, as there are only 1452 days left before we "don't" have to get dressed up for our next reunion.

I realize that we are getting on in years and that we just can’t jump into a full-fledged strenuous exercise program so I have come up with an entry level one to get the blood flowing and here it is.

To get us started I'm going to have you do a few exercises that will (should) not require an approval from your doctor. Ready? Let me/us start with your upper body. :)

Exercise 1 (upper body).
I want everyone to raise their arms up above their shoulder and; Women-put some makeup on and comb your hair, Men-shave the hair off of your ears, out of your nose and brush your teeth. Ok! Now on to ……

Exercise 2 (upper body).
Still upper body. :) Lift a phone to your ear and call anyone you can think of who will come over and take your picture, stand in front of a mirror and take it yourself, or call me and I’ll come over and take the picture.

Exercise 3 (Fingers).
Type an email to me and attach the digital picture of yourself to it. Or, insert a picture into an envelope and mail it to me.

Now aren't these easy exercises? Of course they are. Then get off your butt, get the blood flowing and do it. I'll then identify all the new pictures coming in so we can all take a look and have happy thoughts about you. Now isn't that a nice thought?

I know, you’re probably thinking, “But Pete, what if I don't send in a picture? Nothing is going to happen to me, Right?” Why of course not it wouldn't be like those emails that curse you if you don't forward them to 20 people in 5 minutes. WRONG! It could be worse. A lot worse. Take a moment and think about this. Someday, sometime when you least expect it there just might be a knock on your door and when you open it up there I will be. Shocking? It gets worse. Picture having to make coffee or pour wine for the next 4 hours or more while listening to my nonsensical continuous incoherent rambling. It could happen!

So, please do try and make some time to send in a picture so we can keep our Reunion web site as current as possible. :) Here's my plug to get you in the mood. Listen to all the songs but first listen to Donna at http://www.gotech.com/SalAndPete/ For anyone who does not have the ability to play the music on their PC let me know and I will send you a CD of Sal and I.

If you have a recent picture someplace on the internet just send me the www address of it and I'll download to our web site and let you know when it is posted.

Most of this Newsletter applies to the soon-to-be 40th Wayne Valley High School Class Reunion. There is some additional information that pertains to all Classmates. So please do read the complete email.

Hello Classmates,

Can you believe it? There are only 11 days until….. A GREAT TIME!!!!

The Club House will be packed with over 150 smiling faces. And that’s just the people who are getting paid. NO, No, no, we REALLY DO have over 150 paid attendance.

First, let me mention some things about reunion information. The La Quinta Inn & Suites is our Headquarters. One Diner will be chosen for meals with the exception of the Macaroni Grill for Saturday night. Sound ok so far? Great!

Where is my ticket?
We have your ticket and it will be waiting for you at the Packanack Lake Club House. Your ticket will be worn by you and has your graduation picture and name printed in LARGE letters on it. It is self adhesive and if by chance it falls off it can be optionally stapled to you. ONLY KIDDING!

How will I know what to do and where to go?
By this coming Monday bedtime (that's 8pm for me), expect to receive a list of how many students and who they are that will be attending the meals, the phone numbers that can be called during the Memorial Day weekend where a responsible adult (that's us) will answer the phone and provide you with answers to your questions and any other noteworthy items. Oh shoot, I just realized it is Memorial Day weekend! I already have plans. Oops! That's right, now I remember, my plans are to get to say hello to every student and their guest during the weekend.

What to wear?
Are you still confused? Don't know what to bring? Well, they still have Willow Brook Mall and other stores to shop at if you find you didn't bring exactly what you really want to wear. Personally, I do my family shopping at the Dollar Emporium and food at 7-11. Call me for their locations. :)

Remember Bubba our door man?
I'm not sure of his shoe size but its double digits and starts with a 2. He has been told to step on any bare feet that attempt to enter. In addition, I used to wear a certain type of shirt until I was informed that it was what Old Folks wear. I will NOT be wearing one. Click this link to see.

A bit of trivia. In the picture the guy standing behind me with the dumb looking smile is in real life not a Bass Fiddle musician but the Chief of Police for Washington DC Metro.

It's ok if you don't pick up on my sense of humor. I'm either pretty bad at it or maybe you don't have one, or maybe both. :) Either way, we'll both have an opportunity to work on it at the Reunion where smiles will be had by all.

Hello Classmates,

Two items to mention, one of which near 1/2 of you will most definitely be interested in.

The picture turning pages are in order by 1st name and has almost everyone showing who have purchased a Reunion Ticket. My programming can't handle large number of pictures at the moment so a few of you with names like William are not showing. :( Sorry. I'll get it fixed.

The other is I now have the 8th Grade Anthony Wayne Junior High School 1962-1963 pictures scanned in (Thanks again to Ron Lucia for the use of his book), and on the site in addition to the 8th Grade Schuyler-Colfax Junior High School 1962-1963. :) Look for the Anthony Wayne Picture below the 30th Reunion picture and click on it. Don't forget that each class picture can be expanded to fill your screen and then some. :) The instructions are there. "Click on any class picture below to get a larger class picture. Then place your mouse pointer on the large picture and you will see this Icon appear."

Just one other noteworthy item. Just to let everyone know how serious I am about looking the best that I can for the reunion. I have traveled to Nashville many times over the years and know the town quite well. I arrived in Nashville yesterday afternoon and since then I had Ribs last night, pulled pork shoulder for lunch and the "Combo" (3 meats), for dinner tonight. ------------------ Another Unique Classmate Story ---------------------
by Elissa Fioravanti My husband and I moved to upstate NY in 1982. During 1986 I enrolled my then 3 year old in a local pre-school. On the first day of school, after a dramatic drop-off, there was a mother's "tea" held at the pre-school board president's house. Her name was Bonnie Cole.

While I was standing in her living room leaning against a bookcase and speaking with Bonnie I noticed that my hand was resting over a 1967 Embers year book. I asked Bonnie whose yearbook it was and mentioned that I had one exactly like it. She replied "My husband, Peter." I said "Cole, YOU married Peter Cole?!!" She replied "Well, somebody had too!" After our first introductory encounter Bonnie and I became great friends, taught Sunday School together and worked for BPI Publications together too. During 1992 Bonnie, Peter and their 2 boys moved to the Seattle, Washington area. We always kept in touch. --------------

Happy FRIDAY THE 13TH!!!!!

Are you superstitious? This is the 13th Newsletter that has been sent out. What can I say? I will add that I did not plan it this way.

We continue to hear from students every week. So, the word is getting out. Look at the Page Counter at the bottom of our home page to see how popular our 40th Class Reunion Web Site has become. The counter was put in around the early part of September 2006.

If you don't see your picture in the turning page book let me know. BTW, the pictures are in alphabetical order by First Name. :) Why? It's just the way it turned out.

On the home page there are two songs to listen too. The first is food for thought. You might think about nowadays songs as having poor lyrics. Under your class pix should be a smiley face there you can link to a sign up sheet so we know when you are coming etc. In case we forgot, the dress code is CASUAL for me that means whatever is clean, pressed and FITS!

For everyone who has their student record updated with their email address(which is most of you), then listen up. Go to your student record with your picture. Hello fellow Classmates and friends,

I have just updated the Student database identifying every student who we DO NOT have ANY contact information on. We need everyones help. Please do take some time during the next few days or so and go to this web page and review all the names.

If you know or think you know how to contact any alumni then please do so and let us know too. If you are not sure or unable to pursue any students then please do send us what ever information you have.

Now, don't be shocked at all the names that will have "NOT LOCATED" next to them. There are many but it only represents about 1/3 of the class of near 700. That is not a bad number to be working with considering it is 40 years later! On the other hand, :) we do know about 2/3's of 700 students and with the great responses so far we may be filled to capacity at the club house. :)

How many students and guests are coming? Well, at this moment if most who say they are attending do arrive then we are well over 100 already. With the anticipated attendance support from the outstanding replies our 40th Year Reunion Picture should be two or more times as many as our 30th Year Reunion Picture.

Look for more emails coming your way soon with more activities and opportunities for you to be with your school mates during the Memorial Day Weekend.

Hello fellow Classmates and friends,

How close is our 40th Class Reunion? After today it will be less than 100 days away!!!

You can order your tickets for the reunion online using a credit card or you can send a check to Carol Angiono. All of the instructions are on the ordering page.

Now is the time to make your travel and lodging arrangements. I travel frequently and have a few things to share that I have found to work for me over the years.

Flying
Use http://www.Expedia.com first as a price guide. Expedia will usually have the best price. The weekends are when prices will rise for future dates as well as Tuesday mornings. Electronic tickets are very easy to work with. When you get to the ticket counter all you need to do is just stick your credit card in the slot at the kiosk (the computer screen), touch the menu items and out prints your ticket and the agent takes your bags.

Hotel
There will be a list on our Reunion web site of hotels, prices, location and web site addresses. I'll mention the best way to make your reservation and get the cheapest price.

Restaurants
Again, there will be a list on our Reunion web site of places to eat and a surprise offer too.

A Night of conversation, renewing friendships, sumptuous hors d’oeuvres plus beer, wine and mixers, dessert and coffee included for $55 per person. A DJ will be spinning hits from the 60’s and 70’s. If you would like to drink anything not mentioned above, you are welcome to bring your own favorite.

We are trying to reach out to as many as possible, so if you are able to contact other alumni then please pass along this information. Also, we are putting together a souvenir DVD of the reunion with pictures of our school days and pictures taken the night of the Reunion all accompanied with background sounds of the 60’s.

For those who are coming from a distance we have blocked rooms at the La Quinta (Wellesley Inn) on Ratzer Road at Route 23 in Wayne. Ask for rooms for the Wayne Valley Class of ’67. If there are enough reservations from us they will provide a shuttle to and from the clubhouse.

Payment can be made through Paypal from our Reunion web site or you can send a check (made out to Carol Jones, please put 40th reunion on memo line). Deadline for payment is May 1st. Looking forward to seeing all of you on the 27th.

Only 127 days left Till Our Reunion! :)

Carol Angiono sent out a mailing so expect to see more student names being added shortly.

When you click on the Wellesley Inn Wayne picture the web page you go to says "La Quinta Inn & Suites Wayne". The Wellesley Inn Wayne has been in the family of La Quinta, and I guess finally changed the name over. No fear, it is still in the same place. If you call up and have any problem just email ClassOf67@bgstate.com with the information about the problem and we will get on it asap.

As I mentioned in the last mailing, a link was added for the new EMBERS web page. If you think of something that you would like to have me post from our Year Book, EMBERS, just send an email or call and I’ll do my best to accommodate your request.

Hi Classmates and friends,

It seems like as recent as yesterday there were at least 150 Days left before our Reunion. :)

I found two "Ouch", in my work just now. Nancy Gaestel's year book picture does not display along side her 30th Reunion picture. The "Memories" classmates have their picture shown twice. All of this will be fixed tonight. Keep me honest and let me know of any other Oops! that you find. :)

There are many classmates working on our 40th Class Reunion to make it a memorable event. Heading up this effort is Carol Angiono, along with Nancy Gaestel, and Regina Rizzo. The rest of us are thankful to be part of this upcoming Class Reunion.

I am amazed that there has been 200 visits since the last update of only one week ago.

Yes, updates and features have been added to our site since last week. How did a car manufacturer calculate gas mileage back when we were born? Check it out at What A Year It Was (click on the red cover book image).

Did you ever hear of Murchio Airport? Whether you have or not take a look at where it was and see a few students who lived near by at; The History of Wayne (click on the black cover book image).

Here is the latest new feature: When you are at the "List of Student names" page and select a student to view, the display now includes the student write-up from the Year Book too. But only if they have filled in the 40th Reunion form or if I have on their behave. I added this additional information to bring more of our Year Book to those who no longer have it available and especially for Captain of the Twirlers. :)

A reminder:
I am using my Year Book and when possible I will try and remove your writing so we can see what you wrote over. Hey, remember you wrote it not me, and I still do thank you for that. For those who signed my Year Book, a BIG thanks goes to Alfred for hitting the nail on the head with his comment about my future career in computers. Thank you Dr. Fred.

Hi Classmates and friends,

A BIG welcome to the latest classmates on our Wayne Valley 40th Reunion mailing list. There will be items for you to read at the bottom of this email.

A casual Wayne Valley web page evolved into an official Wayne Valley 40th Reunion web site around the beginning of October 2006. To date we have over 1,800 visits which is quite an impressive number in such a short time.

Well, it's time to evolve again. When you go to the main page http://www.gotech.com/waynevalley/ and then click on the link "To see a List of Student names, Yearbook Pictures & State of residence" or the picture of the yearbook page, the page that you go to now displays your attendance responses. In addition, I did a little formatting to make it easier to read. In addition to the student name being listed there can be information that was entered for their State of residence, current attendance status, a link to their web page for all of us to look at, and unfortunately for those who have died, an In Memory statement and a date if known is displayed.

Hopefully, in a week or two I will add the ability for classmates to send emails to other classmates via a form. I will not hand out email addresses because there are NON-classmates that will take them for their own use. I have already run into fakes trying to get the information so they can enter in information. I will do my best to keep the undesirables out.

Hi Classmates and friends,

I have added little icons that say "updated" or "new" to let you know that I have done some work recently. I put dates in as appropriate too. Mostly to keep my brain in order.

A reminder to some and a new note for others. Almost everyone in the 30th Reunion picture is identified so click away on their face and get the "before and after" pictures side by side with student names too. Please let me know if you know a classmate who is not identified.

I updated the thumbnails that show student pictures of those who have entered information and answered positive to the attendance question. If I missed you, let me know and I'll add your picture. I am still doing these updates manually as I have limited time to work on the site due to the holidays, kids, grandkids and music.

The top of the page now displays how many days are left before our reunion.

Please do not hesitate to send in questions, comments and suggestions. A picture or two of your family, car :) , house, and of course one of you are welcomed. I'll create a web page so everyone can have an opportunity to enjoy reading about you and seeing you.

NOTE: The programming that I am doing on this web site is pretty basic and as such it does not accommodate all internet browsers. If the forms don't work for you or displays do not look correct, then please let me know about it and tell me what browser you are using along with what the problem is. For the form I can do the update for you as there are only a few items to enter. But please, do let me know so I can try and make the site work for everyone.

With help from all of you/us we continue to locate and contact more and more classmates!

We are receiving an overwhelming positive response from everyone. Of course that does not mean that we have a “definitely will attend” from everyone. But, all seem to want to attend.

Frank Ottens shows a beautiful log home that he finished himself and has since sold it to build another smaller home now that the kids are gone and he has retired. By the time some of you open this email Frank and wife will be at their 2nd home in Puerto Rico (they left today), and will not return till May. His family picture is from PR.

Have us create a web page for you. Send in some information and pictures to share with your classmates. Everyone is interested in what you are doing, where you live, what the family looks like. Send me (Pete Milano), your pictures and such and I’ll create a web page for you. Have you seen the little thumbnail pictures changing that are on the main page? I am trying to keep it up to date with the students who are attending. I’m a little behind on this as it is a manual effort that involves brute force on my part. I hope to get the programming done soon to make it automatic.

Bob's picture is in the 5th grade class and he is sitting next to me. Sorry, I haven't updated his spelling yet. Anyway, Bob lived right behind Frank Ottens and....went to Alps Road School for kindergarten, Preakness School through the first part of 5th grade (moved to the other end of Wayne and attended Mountain View School through 6th, then to Anthony Wayne Jr. High, and Wayne Valley through sophomore year -- then he moved to Minnesota. Bob was in Boy Scouts with a few of us too.
