The time has come to start preparing for and advertising for the Annual Lil Margaret’s Bluegrass and Old Time Music Festival. To all our good friends, neighbors, relatives and new comers, this year is our 25th Anniversary of the Lil Margaret’s Bluegrass and Old Time Music Festival. Come one come all to this spectacular event on August 8, 9 & 10, 2013. Seeing that this year is our 25th Anniversary we invite everyone to come spend your vacation enjoying the sites of St. Mary’s County in Southern Maryland and a weekend of wonderful bluegrass music on our farm. We want everyone to come and help us celebrate and enjoy this special event with your family, friends and neighbors. On site we have 4 permanent covered pavilions to get you in and out of the sun or rain and 1 large kitchen (health department inspected) where we prepare home cooked meals and serve ice cream. Food, drinks, ice and ice cream are sold on site. We have campsites available on site with electric and water in 30 amp and 20 amp hookups and are available for first come, first serve. The campsites are 20-foot by 40-foot size. A dump station is also available on site. You can use our farm as your home place to come and go as you please throughout the week to visit the sites of Southern Maryland. Ticket holders can leave and return as needed by showing their armbands at the gate. Armbands are given to ticket holders to be worn and visible at all times. There is plenty of free daily parking in the field available for the one-day ticket holders. Just bring your favorite lawn chair, sit back in one of our permanent pavilions and enjoy the good music and the entertaining show on our amphitheater stage. Our main pavilion is set up like an amphitheater so everyone has a good view. Other activities to enjoy include Banjo and Mandolin workshop on Friday and plenty of good “Parking Lot Picking” by talented individuals. There is fun to be had for everyone.

For the benefit of the people that we have not had the opportunity to meet and welcome to the Lil Margaret’s Bluegrass Festival, our festival is a tribute in memory of our daughter who tragically died in an auto accident 26 years ago. She loved to listen to music all the time and that is what inspired us to have the festival. Looking back over the 24 years of having the festival we have met a lot of wonderful people and have made a lot of good friends. I tell people I have two families, my natural family and my bluegrass family. We welcome everyone to come out and enjoy this weekend of beautiful bluegrass and old time music with us. And we thank all the bluegrass music lovers for supporting our festival over the past 24 years.

We want to thank our family, friends, musicians, sound guys, all the workers, security, local businesses for their ads in our ad book, advertisers (newspapers, magazines and radio), hotels, county officials, customers and anyone that has helped in anyway to support us over the last 24 years. Even though I (Mr. Goddard) was unable to be at the festival last year due to hip surgery and rehab everyone said they had a good time and everything went well. A lot of musicians and faithful supports came to see me at the rehab center and I want to say THANK YOU, this meant a lot to me. We have received numerous letters thanking us for a wonderful weekend on our farm. We are looking forward to seeing everyone on the second weekend in August 8th, 9th, & 10th.
