4 Wheel Drive
No Doubt About It
CRS, MMACD 1005
For out and out traditional bluegrass music this band has it down. The songs come across smooth and most pleasant to the ear. When you listen to this CD you will hear bluegrass music played by people who have mastered the traditional bluegrass sound. You might say that many bands fit this profile, however this band is from the Netherlands, not the USA. As you listen to this CD you may agree that their (4 Wheel Drive), influence along with their musical capabilities provided the additional ingredients to create such a nice sounding CD.
A few highlighted songs are a great rendition of the Flatt and Scruggs, "No Doubt About It", and the Stanley Brothers, "Lonesome Without You". You will enjoy playing "No Doubt About It", over and over again with it's ear pleasing vocals and "Lonesome Without You" with a very nice arrangement, fiddle and drive. Not to forget to mention "Hot Corn, Cold Corn", that has a little subtle change in the tenor that keeps you wanting to hear more.
All and all, this is a CD to purchase whether you already have these songs on other CD's or not. Definitely a CD that will be a pleasant addition to your collection of traditional bluegrass music.

The Bluegrass Connection(tm)1995
The Bluegrass Connection(tm), is the second Bluegrass Music site created on the World Wide Web. Our mission, design and concept was developed during 1994 and The Bluegrass Connection website was introduced on the Internet during 1995 and presented at the 1995 IBMA in Owensboro, Kentucky.
During our early years The Bluegrass Connection would highlight a particular band or artist for a period of time on our homepage. As a result, many bands were able to reach out to their fans and introduce themselves to new audiences quickly. Due to many inquiries and requests to bring that feature back, we have reinstituted the "featured band" on our homepage.
