Rating:

Did you ever think about having a song collection that included every different band configuration? Well, for Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver you can. Yup, there are 50 songs that are represented by 12 different band configurations that Doyle has had over the years. Now let’s up the anti here a little bit. Not only do you get 50 songs on two CD’s, but these songs are from live performances and practice sessions. Most of the songs here were never recorded by the group other than what you have here. You will find a minimum of 2 songs and a maximum of 7 songs recorded by each band configuration.

All the recordings are top-notch from the performers. However, I will say that the 1st CD is lacking in the low end. You will have to crank up the bass setting quite a bit. The 2nd CD is ok in the bass category.

So who is playing you say? As you follow the song list in the CD liner notes each page has a picture of the band that performed the songs on that page along with the names of the musicians. In addtion, there is a statement from Doyle about each song. What great liner notes! What a fabulous package of songs and accompanying information.

Purchase this CD set and you will have a sample of Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver works and only at a fraction of the cost of buying all the CD's that were produced during this 25 year span. You can see just how many CD’s were recorded over the years by Doyle Lawson and the musicians that are on this CD set. Just take a trip to the Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver web site listed below.

For those who are new to bluegrass my suggestion would be that you too should purchase this CD set as it will bring to you 25 years of great bluegrass music. Just click on the purchase link below to see how inexpensive it is to buy 50 songs.

Bluegrass Connection(tm)1995
The Bluegrass Connection(tm)1995

The Bluegrass Connection(tm), is the second Bluegrass Music site created on the World Wide Web. Our mission, design and concept was developed during 1994 and The Bluegrass Connection website was introduced on the Internet during 1995 and presented at the 1995 IBMA in Owensboro, Kentucky.

During our early years The Bluegrass Connection would highlight a particular band or artist for a period of time on our homepage. As a result, many bands were able to reach out to their fans and introduce themselves to new audiences quickly. Due to many inquiries and requests to bring that feature back, we have reinstituted the "featured band" on our homepage.
